Hey Guys! This is Karen, the artist behind Wizard School. I'm sorry we have been so quiet, we've been working hard to make sure the game is ready to go. I have been creating all the art for the cards and trying to keep up with Hank's crazy imagination. I asked Eric to let me start posting some art updates as I am into the home stretch. This is one of my favorites, "Your Angry Mom". At first, I was going to go with a more generic mom character, but I decided to give a nod instead to one of my favorite literary moms. I do the art for these cards, from start to finish, on my Cintiq using Photoshop. I use a blue colored pencil brush to sketch, then ink with an organic oval brush. I use TONS of layers, one for each color and shading, so it is easier to tweak as a go. These cards take me about 4 hours from start to finish once I wrap my brain around the concept. Some of them are easier than others to visualize as art. :) Karen
Card Design Update!

For the last few weeks, we've been working with our designer, Amanda Saffer, to refine and polish our card designs. We wanted the strength of each card to be more obvious and in your face when you flipped it, and generally we needed the information on the cards to be better organized. We also wanted a color scheme that made more sense and was consistent between types of cards. We've just finalized these and we wanted to share.
Also, along with a slight rule modification, we've broken the grade scale out into it's own card (the report card) that is separate from the graduation cards. This saves a lot of space on the card, simplifies our most complicated card, and just looks pretty dang cool.
Let us know what you think!

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all of your support so far and for completing your backerkit survey. (And just a reminder to those of you who haven't filled it out, go do it!) It's helped us with the planning. Just wanted to let everyone know that we sent out the last of Christmas cards today, so look for those in the mail. If you didn't order one yet, sorry, it's too late as Christmas is just around the corner, but they look awesome, so you really missed out. :)
Also, next week we'll be starting to offer Kickstarter backers the chance to sign up to become a playtest group! We'll send out an update with information on how to apply. We want all kinds of people with all kinds of gaming experience and from all over this amazing world to help out. So if you think that might be you, get your group together.

Hi Everyone!
We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! (for those in the US) And are enjoying the start of winter! (or summer for our Southern hemisphere backers). The big news today is that the survey is being sent out to you right now!
We've added several Wizard School items that you can add to your pledge if you would like, and you can add any number of additional games or expansions as well. Also, if you missed out on the Kickstarter, you can now also pre-order the game and many of the other add ons now. Just go to our
Also, we plan to start sending out your Christmas cards (if you've ordered them) starting early next week, so if you want to add that option, please add it ASAP, so we're certain to get it to you in time! As a reminder, the card looks like:
And remember, Backerkit lets you share the news with your friends!
Thank you all!

Hi everyone!
Well, it's been a CRAZY couple weeks since the end of the kickstarter, and we've been hard at work dealing with the realities of getting this game finished and into your hands.
The next step is the survey! We're going to be using Backerkit to make sure we get all the information we need from you about your pledge. Additionally, you will be able to do a ton of additional things. These include:
1) Add on additional games, or, if you missed out of the kickstarter itself, pre-order Wizard School (which will be just a buck or two more than if you'd pledged)
2) Pick up cool Wizard School stuff! We've gotten together a short list of fun things to add to your pledge, or to pre-order, including shirts, poster, coloring book, and the Christmas card.
3) Mange your address. One of the best features of Backerkit is that you constantly have access to your account there, and you can always keep your address up to date. We'll inform you when we're about to do shipping of anything, and remind you to make sure the address there will get the item into your hands. It's basically awesome.
Look for the Survey to show up in your inbox (the same one you used to sign up for Kickstarter) in the next few days. Please fill it out when you can, and those of you who are getting the christmas card please do so ASAP. We want to make sure to get the card to you before Christmas!!!
And finally, take a look at our selection of shirts. Enjoy!
